Wimmera Southern Mallee locals are encouraged to have a conversation with the State Government at the next Wimmera Southern Mallee Regional Assembly in Horsham on August 2.
Last year’s Regional Assembly identified the region’s priorities for the future, including improving early childhood development, better leveraging the region’s competitive advantages in agri-science and building a more vibrant tourism industry.
The Wimmera Southern Mallee Regional Partnership includes the shires of Hindmarsh, Northern Grampians, West Wimmera and Yarriambiack and the Horsham Rural City Council.
This year’s consultation period will give the community a chance to build on momentum already gained, and share thoughts about local opportunities and challenges that span every government portfolio.
The Labor Government established nine Regional Partnerships last July, to give communities the opportunity to have their say on local matters and provide a direct voice into government decision-making.
Minister for Regional Development Jaala Pulford said: “From Kaniva to Harrow, across our Grampians region and into the state’s North-West – we want to hear the issue that mean the most to you.
“We’re ready to listen and we’re ready to deliver for your community.”
