Wave for Well Being

A simple wave can go a long way.

Peter Squires of Tailem Bend knows this well, after experiencing a wave of friendliness when on holidays with his wife in Norfolk Island, after tragically losing their grandson.

They were told to wave to everyone they saw, and Peter was pleasantly surprised by what a friendly feeling the local custom produced.

Upon return to Tailem Bend, he decided to spread the wave, and started a ‘wave for well-being’ campaign which has now spread around the nation.

Anita spoke to Peter on the Regional Roundup to find out about his story.

Peter explained why waving for well-being is so important, and where the wave could spread to in the future.

How many people have you waved to today? Why not say G’Day to 10 people and see how it brightens their day, and yours!
