Three Victorian men will walk 288km across the state’s Wimmera region, from Patchewollock to Banyena in an effort to raise awareness about mental health issues in rural and remote areas.
The three peers will be promoting the message of John Harper’s ‘Mate Helping Mate‘ program, addressing mental health and well-being in rural communities, and the Ripple Effect – working to beat rural suicide.
Funds will also be raised for beyondblue.
The walk kicks off with a gig at the Patchewollock Hotel tonight, before the walkers set off Saturday morning.
