National Red Balloon Day is an event created to honour and thank our courageous firefighters right around Australia.
As the last official day of Summer in Australia, people are encouraged to fly a ‘Thank You Fireys©’ balloon from their letterbox, fence or business window on the 28th of February as a sign of appreciation.
All money raised goes towards our State Fire Services and services which support our fire fighters in times of hardship, with proceeds going directly back into the state they came from.
Alternatively, take the time to show your support for our Fire Services today, even with a simple ‘thank you’.
Firefighters work tirelessly throughout the year to protect our lives, homes and communities, often having to leave their family, home or community to help protect ours.
Event organisers hope that with further sponsorship and Government support in the future, Red Balloon Day can grow to see more funds raised for State Fire Services.
