Regional fuel and diesel prices should be dropped in the lead up to Australia Day, according to a new report from the RAA – South Australia’s Automotive Association.
In 2017 alone, country petrol prices have been on the rise due to the impact of increasing oil prices and the fall of the Australian dollar late last year.
However, as the wholesale price of petrol and diesel is now falling, AA Senior Analyst Chris West is urging regional fuel retailers to drop their prices.
“We’d expect prices to hit the mid $1.20’s by Australia Day or by the end of the month at the very least,” he said.
According to RAA’s Regional Fuel Star Ratings for December, Broken Hill was retailing the fairest petrol prices, receiving a score of 3.8 out of 5, followed closely by Flow region Clare on 3.5 and Port Pirie matching the score.
