The Regional Council of Goyder has just been awarded funding as part of a joint program with the Motor Accident Commission of South Australia.
The program selected 8 community projects across SA that improve road safety, encourage smart use of cars and greener modes of travel.
The Mid-North Council will use funding to implement a video conferencing initiative to reduce road safety risks for young people and their families, having to drive long distances on country roads to attend meetings.
Other projects/councils to be funded under the program include:
- Mount Barker District Council-Community Development
- Port Pirie Regional Council
- South Australia Tourism Commission’s work bike project initiative that will take cars off the road and decrease taxi use
If your community group is interested in being involved, more information about funding criteria is available at www.dpti.sa.gov.au/communitygrants, via (08) 8343 2644 or through emailing email@example.com.
The next round of Community Grants will open July 31.
