Rain Doesn’t Dampen Farmers’ Harvest

The weekend cool change across Southern Australia does not appear to have dampened the harvest given the light rain and breezes plus a cool night following drying out the affected areas.

Widespread light rain in SA’s Mid North and Mallee and in Victoria’s Wimmera district caused initial concern among farmers regarding black tip and shooting heads.

Crop consultant are reviewing areas today but initial reports indicate the harvest will continue with minimal losses and downgrades.
