The Coalition Government will invest $5 million into redevelopments of the Murray Bridge Racing Club at Gifford Hill.
Member for Barker Tony Pasin welcomed the move, saying the milestone marked and important day for Murray Bridge.
“This Federal Government funding will ensure the construction and fit out of the Gifford Hill Function Centre and Race Day Facilities.
“This project will provide economic uplift, jobs growth and business participation for the region.
“Local projects like this are vital for regional communities…[and] I look forward to seeing it through to fruition,” he said.
Rural City of Murray Bridge Mayor Brenton Lewis spoke of the importance of the redevelopments for the region.
“The racing industry has traditionally been a strong part of the fabric of Murray Bridge.
“The redevelopment ensures Murray Bridge Racing Club has a strong, strategic and sustainable position offering a future for existing and new entrants.
“This is just what we want to see at the Rural City of Murray Bridge,” he said.
Murray Bridge Racing Club are managing the delivery of this $16 million project.
