Continuous Glucose Monitoring Devices (CGMs) are now being heavily subsidised for people under 21, living with type 1 diabetes.

The subsidies, which were part of an election promise last year, were introduced to Parliament by local member for Mallee Andrew Broad, following a heartfelt discussion with Blair – a local boy from Birchip living with type 1 diabetes.

Mr Broad spoke to Anita on the Regional Roundup for more.

He explained how CGMs work and the importance of these devices.

Mr Broad also told Flow FM how the subsidies will work, ensuring each CGM device is essentially free for children.

He also highlighted the importance of talking to your local MP, after he was able to make a national change once Blair had raised the issue to his attention.
