Victoria’s Mallee region has failed to secure Federal Government funding for the Mobile Black Spot Program, with no new mobile phone towers to be built in the region.

$60 million was allocated to the program, with the aim of improving Australia’s mobile phone coverage by targeting 125 specific priority locations.

Flow areas such as Robertstown, Kybybolite, Alford/Bute, Wynarka, Chum Creek in the Yarra Ranges, Airleys Inlet & Anglesea along Great Ocean Road and Birregurra were all listed as priority locations and will receive funding for new towers under the program.

Federal Member for Mallee Andrew Broad joined Anita on Flow FM to discuss why his electorate missed out.
