Charity Bike Ride Keeps Wheels Turning

A group of 36 cyclists are riding 850km from Torquay to Adelaide this week in order to raise money for the Herbalife Family Foundation.

The foundation assists children and youth in need in The Infants Home in Sydney, The Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation in Perth, Melbourne’s Lighthouse Foundation, and the Starship Foundation in New Zealand.

The cyclists, joined by 20 crew members, are making pit stops in Mortlake, Casterton, Kingston, Meningie, and Strathalbyn along the way, before reaching Adelaide on January 13.

2017 marks the fourth year the charity ride has run, with everyone on board aiming to double their efforts of previous years and raise $200,000 dollars for the Herbalife Family Foundation.

Ride Organiser, Kevin Beale, told Flow FM all the riders had received a very warm reception from all the towns they had ridden through and stopped at, including Flow region, the South East.

Rod Taylor, General Manager of Herbalife Australia and New Zealand said they are proud to sponsor the event, “and hope that this ride will motivate others to set challenges, and try something
new to help their community.”
