Today, March 21 is Harmony Day, where Australians all over the nation celebrate peace and our cultural diversity that makes Australia so rich.
More than 3,000 official events will be occurring right around the country, including food fairs, concerts, movie nights, talks, peace walks and festivals embracing cultures from right around the world.
Just a few of the Harmony Day events happening in Flow FM regions include:
- Harmony Day with Special Guest Khoa Do at St Mary’s Catholic Church Gellibrand Street, Colac VIC – March 21, 7pm
- Colourfest shortfilm festival with light supper at Roxbylink Cinema, Richardson Place Roxby Downs SA – March 22, 6.30pm
- App launch to connect community – Neighbourhood House 23 Miller St. Colac VIC, March 21, 10.30am
Flow region Gladstone in SA’s Mid North already celebrated Harmony Day last Thursday with a special photo booth and student leader assembly.
Minister for Social Services and Multicultural Affairs, Senator Zed Seselja commented on the celebrations, saying “Harmony Day is a wonderful, vibrant and colourful reminder that we are one of the most diverse and yet socially cohesive nations on earth.
“This is a day that helps us appreciate the enormous benefits of cultural diversity while understanding that first and foremost we are all Australians and we all belong.”
