Apprentices, trainees and teachers will be celebrated at this year’s Victorian Training Awards, with nominations now open.
Minister for Training and Skills Gayle Tierney today officially opened nominations for the awards, which now in their 63rd year highlight innovation in the training and TAFE system.
“Our apprentices, trainees and teachers work hard every day and these awards are a chance for us to celebrate them,” she said.
15 categories are open for nomination this year including six individual categories, three training and four employer categories and an Industry Collaboration Award.
Winners will receive $5,000 and go on to represent Victoria at the Australian Training Awards in Canberra in November.
Members of the public will again be able to vote via social media in the People’s Choice Award, while the Lynne Kosky Memorial Award will recognise lifetime achievement in VET in Victoria.
Winners and finalists gain state-wide recognition, with winners being announced at the gala awards on Wednesday 11 October.
Nominations close 16 June 2017 and can be done online at: http://www.education.vic.gov.au/vta.
