A Case for Caged Eggs?

The Victorian egg industry has has raised serious concerns about letters received from the RSPCA demanding a voluntary end to the practice of caged eggs.

Victorian egg producers are concerned at a lack of evidenced from the RSPCA, saying the animal welfare organisation is “dressing up opinion as science”.

70% of Australia’s eggs are currently produced by caged hens, with a sudden end to production potentially rupturing Australia’s egg industry.
